Stay away from heated tools, blow dryer, flat iron, curling wand, etc, if possible. Also defiantly stay away from any lighteners. Your hair needs time to heal & lots of tlc, I would get you a good deep conditioning mask and use it 2-3 times a week under a plastic cap for 20-30min. Also when washing hair only shampoo the scalp & condition the mid shaft to ends only! I like joico k-pak line for repair & moisture but there are really good organic lines out there too if you want to go the organic route, just be kind & gentle to your hair for a while but defiantly a moisture rich hair mask is a must :)

Dont wash it everyday! My hair has gotten so much better after only washing it every other day or every 3 days. Avoid heat as much as possible(shower earlier and let your hair air dry) and always always always use a heat protectant. Try to find a strengthening/repairing shampoo. Also use a clarifying shampoo and a deep condition about every 2 weeks.

If you buy the "It's a 10" conditioner like Tiffany suggested, you can buy it at Target online, 2 for the price of one! (I just stocked up!)
I recommend that and coconut oil treatments!

Cut it regularly and when you dry it with a towel, don't rub it back and forth as it can create friction and apparently split ends. Obviously avoid bleaching (and dyes) and eat a diet with lots of protein :) x

Almond Oil won't do anything except make your hair greasy. Its molecules are much too big to penetrate the hair shaft. I'd recommend a deep conditioning treatment with Keratin, Placenta, Hydrolized Wheat Protein, or Hydrolized Soy Protein.
Your hair is also 30% weaker when wet. Brush it before you shower, squeeze and pat it dry, and don't touch it until it's not wet anymore.
Everyone, no matter the hair length, should get a trim every 3-4 months. Also; you should not color your hair more often than every 6-8 weeks.
Also; tie your hair back before sleeping. Braiding causes the least damage, as does sleeping with a silk pillowcase .. which you can get at Sally's Beauty Supply for $10.
Source: I am a trained Hairdresser and Esthetician. I've had to deal with quite a lot of damaged hair in my time; and after a perm and a double-bleach over the past 2 years, my hair is still remarkably healthy.
