Setting spray, primer, in my opinion, ensures a smooth application of product and creates a barrier that might help control oil. It doesn't really keep the foundation's finish or keep it from creasing.

Ooh that's hard..probably a primer because its a better foundation for the makeup to hold onto and it smooths it out better.

Setting Spray! Is easier. I tried using primer a couple times but always forgot to apply first before my foundation

A setting spray.
Why?
Because I use antioxidant serums in my skin care. If you pay attention to serums and primers you'll notice that a serum is a primer with antioxidants and contains skin benefits. It provides that barrier between your skin and primer and something for make up to stick to.

Setting spray I find if I use a bb then I don't need a primer but if I use a primer without the spray on foundation then it doesn't last as long.

I wouldn't classify a primer as something that would set makeup. Unless, there is one that actually does prime and set. I use a oil control primer in my t zone then Ben Nye's Final Seal all over my makeup. It makes my makeup permeant. At the end of the day I have to seriously scrub to get it off.

I would have to agree that a setting spray would set makeup best...imo all a primer does is prep the face for you foundation application giving you a smooth canvas to work with.

Primer bc I have dry skin.
