Dampen your brush with a mixing medium (not too damp). Get your shadow on the brush then apply the shadow wherever on your lids etc.

You can get color on your brush then spray it with MAC fix+ and apply :)

I only do this with baked metallic shadows, but personally I use water to dampen the brush, and it works really well for me. Next time I'll try a mixing medium!
