I am in high school and I do not fully know what are the appropriate type of products to use. I just want to cover up my acne and marks. I don't mind if someone puts some eyeliner photos but I only like to use a light amount.
What I do now is put foundation and powder on my face (Almay).
If you can give me some help thank you because I am lost on what to do and how to apply products.

Step two : Apply a moisturizer
Step three: Apply primer
Step Four : Dot small amounts of foundation all over your face
Step Five : Blend foundation with a brush, beauty blender, or (clean) fingers.
Step Six : Add concealer in places where you need it. For example, under the eyes, around the nose, and over blemishes that the the foundation didn't cover.
Step Seven : Add blush
Step Eight (optional) : Add highlights and contour
Step Nine : Use a setting spray to make your makeup last all day!
For eye makeup, you can do a simple neutral eye by putting light brown on the lid and a tan color in the crease, with black/brown eyeliner and a little mascara.
For lips, I'd just wear a Chapstick with a natural lip gloss.
All of that makeup isn't really necessary :) I just wanted to give you a few ideas of what you could do. Good luck!

Lisa Eldridge has a good video on covering acne; if you go to her website I think it's categorized under "Basics." I love Lisa over and above all others as she has a light hand and keeps her looks fresh and modern.

Use a good concealer, I like mac's studio fix (I think that's what it's called) concealer. it's full coverage and it's about $20 but it lasts for ages (: maybe add blush or highlighter to give your face a little dimension ( I like elf's baked blush and milani blushes a lot).

Mascara- L'Oreal Butterfly Waterproof (tip- waterproof helps hold curl better).
Pencil Eyeliner- L'Oreal Infalliable Twist Up Eyeliner
Liquid- Revlon Pen Colorstay (or for highend Kat Von D and Stila are amazing!)
Primer- I love L'Oreal Magic Lumi Primer (gives an awesome glow and makes my foundation look great)
Eye Primer- UD Primer Potion or Milani
Blush- Milani Baked Blush
Eyeshadow- Physcians Formula, Wet N Wild, Too Faced and Urban Decay (UD)
Lips- Revlon Colorburst Balm Stains are great and any Buxom products are amazing
Foundation- now this depends on your skin type (dry, normal, oily, combo)
Concealer- Hard Candy (walmart) Glamoflauge.
Now most of the products I listed are drugstore but some are highend that you can find at Ulta or Sephora. And the pic has some of the things I listed and more...

I'm in high school and this is usually my routine.
I wash and dry my face, the apply my acne treatment. After I apply moisturizer with SPF in it (30+). I have primer but I never usually use it except for special occasions so I would skip it for everyday. Then I apply foundation. My foundation is an organic power foundation (jane iredale) because it is light coverage and doesn't break me out. I save liquid or cream foundation for weekends only. You could also use a BB cream if you have drier skin instead of powder. I just use powder because it keeps my face from getting super oily. After I apply a little blush. Then I apply a lip tint; I like it because it gives me color all day long but I don't have anything on my lips! I apply a balm over and that's it! And then I fill in my eyebrows because mine are really sparse and nonexistent but if your eyebrows are normal you can skip this step! Then I apply a little mascara and that's it! On days when I have more time or wanna look extra nice I apply eyeliner but I only do that maybe once a week. For the final touch I set my makeup with a setting spray but I do that only because I get so oily that everything comes off if I don't. But you won't need that if you have normal skin. I hope this helps!! To get you started I would look at some of the YouTube channels that people recommended to give you some looks you like. Personally for me everyday I do a really natural/girly/pretty look but if you start to like makeup you can change lip colors/add eyeshadow/etc. If you've never purchased makeup before you will need to get the products mentioned or any version you like. Drugstore brands are great and work perfectly, but if you can spend the extra cash I would splurge on nicer products because I've noticed they last longer, look better, and don't irritate sensitive skin. Just go with your budget. You'll also need make up brushes too but you can get relatively cheap ones from Ecotools that are still good quality. If you can't afford brushes or don't want to use them, you can apply foundation/BB cream with your hands, and you can get a cream blush to do the same. You just won't be able to use powder. At least try and get a bowser brush because they can double for more than one use. Remember to clean your brushes once a week (baby shampoo) or more if you have acne prone skin! I hope this helps! I can do my makeup routine in under 8 minutes, so once you start practicing you can wear nice makeup every day and still get to school on time! If you have any other questions let me know. Hi Michaela are you new to applying makeup? or you just want a new routine? I ask because I could understand how all this could be overwhelming and sometimes well most of the time to get the kind of finish you want Doesn't include all those extra's people say to use.What finish are you aiming for do you want full coverage with a natural finish nothing more?Do you also have a price range?
