I use conditioner too when I shave and also shave with the grain or the direction the hair grows not against it or else you will get those red bumps also use a sharp razor ( you can also use men's razors because you get a much closer shave )
Waxing just seems like it would be too painful

I am a cosmetologist and wax aholic I swear by waxing and I wouldn't recommend trying to give yourself a Brazilian especially not for the first time I am a wax expert and even for me to wax myself is difficult your first wax isn't going to be a piece of cake but it is worth it take an ibuprofen before you wax it'll help a little and exfoliate the day before. I will wax and won't have to wax again for like a month to a month and a half and it comes in more sparingly because of the hair growth cycle deff try waxing it will be a life changer.

I use sugar wax :) the first time it hurts a lot and you'll want to stop. But try not to...then after I use a hair inhibitor and it gives a really long lasting effect leaving your smooth :)

Sana there is no reason to be embarrassed keep in mind this is what we do for a living so it is normal for us as it is your first time it can be nerve wrecking but it is so easy once your in the room a Brazilian is only waxing you can remove all the hair by shaving or the cream but with both of those methods you can leave with your skin irritated
With the friction of the razor it can cause irritation that will lead to redness and razor burn or bumps and with the creams you cannot get certain areas because the bikini/ private area is such a sensitive area the chemicals aren't good for it
So if you don't want to go in for waxing try your best bet is to use the creams for the bikin line and top (mons pubis) and shave all other areas

Charlese C, does waxing make your hair come back thinner over time? Cause shaving any body hair obvs makes it come back thicker which annoys me! Maybe it's time to switch...

Yeah, go to a salon for your first wax. It's not nice. It's not horrific, but you'll find it hard to do it yourself. Going to a salon isn't embarrassing - they've seen it all before. It's their job. They'll probably have several bikini waxes booked in one day. I'm a salon receptionist and I'm booking tonnes of bikini lines and Hollywood waxes a day.

So shaving truly doesn't make you hair grow back thicker for a lot of people it seems like it does but it's a myth your hair has three cycles growing resting and shedding so what you do when shaving is kind of make it all go to the same phase there fore it makes it appear thicker...
But as for waxing yes over time the hair does come more sparingly in the process sometime the hair follicle will be damaged there for making the hairs not grow back as with this you do have to continue to wax over time some hairs will not grow back making the hairs grow back so much thinner also the hair stages will not all be on the same time so they all won't grow at once

With shaving you cut your hair at a blunt angle there for you the hairs look thicker/ darker and you can see the cross section as with waxing the hair grows back naturally and naturally the hair doesn't grow out at a blunt angle.
