Getting Licensed- Help!

Hi, I've been thinking of getting my license as an esthetician. does anyone here have experience in the field? what kind of jobs can I except to be working? what should I be looking for in a school or program? :)

And I don't mean to sound ignorant. I realize I can find a lot of this information with a Google search. but I'm especially interested in personal experiences rather than just statistics and advertising from beauty schools.
