I was at the store today and I saw these vans. Everyone loves vans, but I couldn't wear them before because I have to use an insert in my shoe due to a birth defect on my foot. Do you think that vans will fit the insert? I've never tried vans before, but I really like how they look on other people. The vans that I saw were higher at the ankles, is this a new style for them? Thank you!

How big is the insert exactly? There are several styles of vans, varying from ones with platforms and high tops to flat bottoms and low tops!

Oh okay, :)
The insert is mostly made of a foamy material, except for the hard plastic at the heel and around the arch of my foot. I don't know if it'll fit, but I really want a pair for summer. I really want a white pair, I'll just have to clean them every weekend haha

Maybe it would help to take the insert with you when you go try on a pair?(:

I agree with anorea :) but I think you can wear it with the insert, and if you don't mind me asking what is the birth defect you don't have to answer it if your not comfortable its because I had something similar sorry if I'm being too nosy!

I always take my insert with me when I try on new shoes, I'm just nervous about going to the store and looking stupid if it can't fit..

Don't worry about it seeming stupid! My aunt had to have her shoes changed because one leg was long than the other and quite honestly, no one really cares! Most don't notice and just think of them as regular insoles( think Dr.Scholes).
