When I was blonde I touched up my roots probably every two months. By one month my roots were starting to show but I tried to wait as long as I could stand it. And I always just bought the at home dye. Worked perfect for me!

But I do at home stuff all the time because I don't trust no body with my hair, so if you feel more comfortable going to a salon for touch ups, then you should probably do that! But it's so easy to do it yourself too.

Honestly I would just keep your roots dark! Dark roots are in right now and it's super low maintenance. I live in the Los Angeles area and work at a hair studio that my mom has had for over 10 years, my sister also does hair and lately (probably this whole year) we haven't done ANY color applications to the roots. Maybe 1 or two people. Also if your hair is that dark it's actually a process to get it that light. You probably won't get it in one try. Maybe 2 or three if you don't wanna to damage your hair. Hope it works out Hun (: ✨💁

You'll damage your hair so incredibly bad, it'll all break off and you'll end up with like a bob line because the rest broke off (my nieces are have experience ) they really regret it.

How long can you usually go without touching your roots up? Since I've been blonde I've bleached my regrowth twice and it was about an inch long but I'm far too lazy to keep doing it myself but if you're going to a salon I think you could go about 6-8 weeks if you don't mind having regrowth but so much easier to let the regrowth get longer then bleach it, also works better the longer it is.
