Usually people with square faces have very prominent cheekbones that don't really need contouring. But there are other areas you can contour a square face. If you feel you don't have a lot of room on your face, you may want to find a small, thin contour brush such as the little brushes that come in the Benefit Box Blushes. Then you can use regular angle contour brush to lightly blend. Here is a chart of some contouring guidelines.

Can I see a picture of your face? Just so I can understand the space issue.

Its hard to tell what your face shape is, but is it possible you are "perceiving" a fat face when in fact you don't have a fat face but just a wide jaw & prominent cheekbones which you are seeing as a fat face? Which in that case, just follow the square face contouring chart.
