I was wondering if I should go to school for makeup I want to become a makeup artist but up until now i have no training I put makeup on my self. The reason I have been hesitating is because most schools for makeup are somewhat expensive. If making it in the business means I have to go to school what school would you recommend that is less expensive.

Many famous artists are self taught and so with that in mind I suggest watching a whole lot of YT videos, practice on yourself and friends/family. Seek out employment at Sephora or ULTA, a makeup counter...even its just a position as a cashier...at least you got your foot in the door and once they get to see your positive work ethic maybe they will extend the opportunity of instruction in regards to makeup. Basically, if you really want a career as an artist you will need to create opportunities yourself. They aren't going to come to you. You should also check out the makeup manuals from Kevin Aucoin, Bobbi Brown (just to name a few) to duplicate looks and learn about technique. If you still want to go the traditional route and attend school I would research if any of them are approved to dole out federal financial aid and is so all you need to do is fill out an app for federal student financial aid. I can't recommend a school because I don't know you reside. :)
