I'm planning to dye mine and I have pretty dark hair. what's a good bleach that won't damage my hair too much?

If you go to Sally's they have all the stuff you need including different... levels? of bleach like 20 30 and 40. For dark hair I would use 40. There will be powdered bleach along with liquid and you will have to mix the two together. I'm really bad at explaining so I hope someone at the store can help you lol.

If you have dark hair, you will probably have to bleach it twice. How light are you planning on going?

Bleach will damage your hair no matter what.
I have bleached my hair myself and I liked what I used. It worked well but I'm sorry I don't remember the name of it. It was such a long time ago.
Depending in how light you want to go you might have to do it twice like Ashley said. But you have to wait a two weeks at least before bleaching it. Also during the time you are waiting you have to deep condition a few times to bring it back up to health.

Well of course you can as long as you're cautious and know what you're doing.. However, since you're asking and it's a first time thing is highly recommend just going to a salon.

It'll be my first time doing anything color related to my hair. I'm planning to go lavender on my ends so I'm guessing I'll need to do it a few times. What about after care? How fried will it be?

Hi Katherine! I have gotten my hair died and bleached at least 4 times now the part of my hair that I got bleached is ruined. I can barely brush it out because it Is so dead and dehydrated. I would suggest just using hair chalk for a while they make really great ones!! Hope I helped:)

Oof I would not suggest that. Seriously. If you do though, do a color test and CAREFULLY WATCH YOUR HAIR!! Check every five to ten minutes! And you can get everything at Sally's :) the people there are awesome.
