I know what primers are for but can someone explain what the difference is between silicone and normal primer? What foundations can be used with silicone primers, etc? Also I know nothing of setting sprays :/ what are good brands of them and what do they actually do? I would like to try them out. Please and thank you! (:

I have a NYX matte setting spray, and it's great. Setting spray works like hair spray, it helps hold your makeup in place and makes it last!

It's just the base of the primer. some primers are silicone based, some are water based, etc. I think silicone primers fill in fine lines & pores more than primers with a different base.
as for setting sprays, they're basically a spray that covers your face in a gel coating to remove that powdery look you can sometimes get after applying makeup. it also helps keep your makeup in place a bit longer, but fixative sprays are far better than setting sprays for that. they actually adhere the makeup to your face.
Urban Decay makes really good setting sprays. I personally use their All Nighter spray. as for Fixative sprays, I'd definitely recommend the Ben Nye Final Seal spray.
