Maybe it's the people you are surrounding yourself with.. because I think it's a little unfair to speak for New Jersey as a whole when there are popular Beauty Vloggers on Youtube who are based in New Jersey. I too have family & friends in New Jersey and from what I have seen, make up is not looked down on.. and ironically my friend was wearing all kinds of crazy eye make up at an early age.
I know when you're younger the views on make up are completely different and it's looked at as a sin, so that may also be a factor.

Alma, you are definitely correct! We aren't anything like the show "the jersey shore", that's for sure! But here, we love to look our best. Brows frame the face. When I don't fill in my brows, I feel that I look strange. My grandma has lived here her whole life, and she is obsessed with makeup. She's where I got my passion for it. She won't leave the house without her brows!
Kitty, you also do make a good point. I'm going to be a senior in high school, and all the girls that wear makeup in my school fill in their brows. (Unfortunately, some don't do it correctly).

Kaitlin thanks for sharing :) I like a lady who must be in brow mode before leaving the house.Claire when it comes to brows it's a personal preference you can have subtle brows that don't look like they have a brow product on them.What Ideal brow are you talking about or your friend's talking about? and being a young age does make a difference on how people see things.I'll say this I guarantee you in 3 years those people telling you all this will have Brows so made up to the point it looks like a raised brow contest is about to happen they will be so dark and arched like no other Lol now picture that and laugh ;)

Claire, that actually could be because they also think that everyone else scorns it. You could subtly suggest that filling in your brows isn't that bad if you do it in a tasteful way. If they still have a negative reaction. I think you should go for it. I think it's perfectly fine. Probably the least worrisome of any makeup trend. (If I were to believe anything about makeup was really worrisome) btw. You are stunning!

Well I live in a rural area in Ohio and I don't see anyone with filled in brows. Well correctly filled brows. People in rural areas seem to be stuck in the past lol.
