What is hair toner?!

I just bleached my hair to go blonde but I was told I needed toner. I'm problem is I don't know where or what brand to get toner? Help?!

Shimmer lights is a good shampoo toner. Since the shampoo itself is purple, it'll correct any brassy yellow tones in your hair and give it a more ashy blonde or silver/white appearance.
The only down side is that you have to keep using the shimmer lights shampoo. Any other shampoo will strip the purple out of hair and return it to the brassy yellow color.
Amazon and eBay are the only places that I know to buy the product.

Toner changes the tone of your hair. For example, if your hair is yellow, you'll use a purple-based toner to cancel the yellow to achieve a more neutral color. You tone blonde hair with a color that is opposite of the color you have on the color wheel. I.e. Green cancels red, blue cancels orange, purple cancels yellow.

I use a toner on my mom's grays because she's not ready for "real" hair dye :) clairol color radiance works well for me an my clients :) wells does also :) and redken.
