Lizzy thanks for posting this. I'm actually looking for a similar post since I'll be attending an independence day party as well. I think I'll follow Dawn's suggestion. I did this on my nails as well.

I agree with dawn. If red is too bold, a good pink, coral, or orange will do the trick. Also, if you don't have blue eye shadow, blue mascara looks cool!
