Here what I think I know... Moisturizer contains water and some barrier ingredient to lock in the water. Oil is just a barrier to lock in water.

Is it best to use a moisturizer then an oil, or use water (damp after a shower) and then an oil to lock in the water? Can I just drink a lot of water and wear oil on my skin? Or Does that sound stupid?

I personally use organic rosehip oil as a serum before putting on my moisturizer. Oils are absolutely wonderful. I also spray my face with my George's Aloe spray before applying the rosehip oil. This routine works well for me.

A moisturizer is meant to lock in moisture that's already in your skin it's a barrier,it should lock in your serums ,there are different types of oils some moisturizing and some sealant oils jojoba oil is moisturizing it mimics our own natural lipids argan can seal that in or you can put a oil on a still use a moisturizer ontop if your skin is dry and dehydrated.

Traci, I heard vitamin E oil was good for moisture so I bought some, but Will it clog pores? (I had a Bad experience with coconut oil).

Vitamin E can clog your pores if you use it to often because its fat soluble which means your skin can use more of it and it last longer in your skin if you use it to much your skin can't absorb it all so it can clog your pores especially oily skin types.

I agree with Miss Traci. I use Squalane oil instead of a moisturizer.. but if I use argan oil I still go ahead and use my moisturizer on top.

@Jes, I suggest reading the ingredients. The vitamin e oil that I have includes coconut oil in it.
