In the summer or in the rain my hair gets extremely puffy. I'm talking Afro puffy. And tips on how to stop it from puffing up. I just want it to be straight and thin.

It's the humidity that's doing it. You should look for products that have...I think it's called anti humectants, but I could be wrong, and style with those. I'm natural so my hair is Afro puffy 98% of the time, but properly styling products help my hair not poof back up when I do twist outs, braid outs, etc.

I have thick course wavy hair and I have always had great luck with Garnier Humidity deep conditioners and their bamboo hairsprays. So you may try those...

Erin is correct. And definitely don't resort to using hairspray...all its going to do is dry out your mane and scalp causing further problems. Lisa mentioned using deep conditioners...those are your bestfriend right there.
