I don't think clarifying shampoo makes hair blonde...
I could be wrong though...

I don't think so. Leaving it in for an hour will most likely make your hair into a dry, unmanageable disaster

No, I have used that shampoo and it's just great with oily hair, but it definitely doesn't lighten your hair and never leave shampoo in your hair for an hour it dries out your hair!

It will definitely fade color treated hair but a clarifying shampoo is to help remove product buildup and can also help with oiliness. If you are want to help make you hair blonder with out coloring your hair then I suggest using a Shimmer Light Purple Shampoo but it will only help some if you have blonde already in your hair. It is also not meant for everyday use and its pretty drying so I recommend using the conditioner with it. You can buy it at Sally's. Also using something like Sun-In or John Frieda has one too, it will help make your hair lighter but its pretty drying too so use a good deep conditioner.

Be careful though because if you have brown hair it can make and orangey/reddish tint.
