Hey!
Since I was a kid I had a really bad habit of pealing my lips when I'm nervous (I know, gross, sorry!) and now it really bothers me because I can't use lipstick or lip gloss because of it! 😔 any ideas would be really helpful.. Thanks!

I know it's not any better but instead of biting my lips I bite the inside of my mouth so I don't mess up my lipstick. It's a hard habit to stop especially because I do it without even thinking

I have a seriously bad picking habit too :s
what actually helped me a lot was going to a nail salon & getting solar or gel nails. they make it really hard to pick at things.. it's slowly helped me break my habit c:

The reason I can't use them is because my lips are super chapped..

I used to do that a lot too. What I did is every time I noticed myself doing it I immediately stopped and went to do something that involved using both my hands so I wouldn't be able to do it. I've grown out of it now. Good luck!

As for chapped lips, exfoliate them well and slather on a very moisturizing lip balm at night, such as Vaseline at night before you go to bed. (: that should help them from being chapped.

I also peel the skin off my lips too. Worst habit ever. What's been helping me is exfoliating my lips with both a lip scrub & my toothbrush to get all thst dead & excess skin off (leaving me nothing to peel) & just constantly adding chapstick or lipgloss etc

That could be a skin picking disorder called Dermatilomania. Google it a bit and find yourself a nice therapist :) There is an article here about that subject, and I also made a post about it here on the Talk session. Hope it helps!

Maybe try to use a bright lipstick? So you'll ruin it if you start picking? Might work!

I have the same issue and what helps me a lot is Chapstick right after I brush my teeth and like after 3 hours again and its been helping..

Omg I have a bad habit of biting my lips and I inside of my mouth! Sometimes when I wake up my lips will be bleeding! I can't stop I've tried so hard! And I was biting my lips the whole time reading this thread!

Absolutely smother your lips in intensive lip moisturiser or lip balm over night and try to refrain from biting them for a couple days. Throughout those days constantly put lip balm on, everytime you go to peel your lips just add balm on (I would use Vaseline lip balm you get in a tin. The Cocoa butter one does wonders for me). After about 3 days you'll see nearly no dry skin and you won't have anything to actually bite or peel! Then you can go out and buy yourself beautiful lipstick and where all day/night long!♡

Exfoliate your lips every morning w. A toothbrush before you apply your lipstick
