As a cosmetologist.. I would tell you there are pros and cons to attending a brand owned school...
Pros- you learn techniques that are exclusively theirs that you couldn't learn anywhere else
Con-- you are only familiar with their products and color...
And just as a bit of advice Paul Mitchell has been around for years in the hair industry but does not have the outstanding reputation it once had. Mainly bc as the times have changed Paul Mitchell hasn't. They are outdated and have been cheapened...By only using their products and color you have a VERy small amount of overall color knowledge that you have at your fingertips in the world. The only way this is going to benefit you is if you come out and are planning to work in an exclusively Paul Mitchell salon... Which there are very few of.
By getting a good education you set the ground work for a solid start in your hair career. It's a hard career to break into and by giving urself as many tools in your tool belt as you can is best choice.
