My hair is really yellow in the front and brown-ish in the back, I have long hair, what can I do to get it to a light brown color?

Use a toner to get it all one color!! I'd recommend going to a salon and asking them to use a toner!! :)

I bleache my hair too today, and its orangy yellow. I went to sallys today and they advise me use this. I have some dark black spots on my hair like where I didnt bleach n some orange. so at this point I'm not bleaching it again! I even toned it with WELLA T18 but nothing.

The conditioner you posted should work. If you want to go light brown, I would recommend going to Sally's or somewhere similar and purchasing hair dye. Depending on the results you want you can use semi, demi, or permanent. Semi and Demi will fade faster. I wouldn't recommend wella through. Loreal and Ion have some great colors! Most importantly, do not use box color. It will make it harder to lift your hair color.

That conditioner won't work well as it's too pale of a purple. If your hair is straight up yellow hair I feel that pale purple won't really tone it. You can mix your shampoo or conditioner with a little bit of purple kool aid. Or try something with a nice violet color. It should look scary in the bottle because it becomes toned down with water. I like the Clairol Shimmer Lights.

@marybeth. The bleach was suppose to go on the shaft of the hair first as it's harder to bleach then put it on your ends then your roots. The roots go last because the heat from your scalp makes it bleach faster so this will make it more even. If your hair is an orangey yellow. T18 may have had to be left on longer than 5 minutes OR purchase a purple shampoo with more blue in it

Okay! My suggestion would be to try shwartzopft L+ dyes, I use the one that lifts the most shades, it's a lot better than bleaching your hair again but will do the same thing. It's only 10$ for a box and will work on all your hair, apply it to the parts that are a darker colour first then wait 5-10 minutes and apply the rest to the rest of your hair avoiding the roots if they're already a light colour. After this you can leave your toning shampoo in your hair for about 10-15 minutes on dry hair if you can, some or most of the orange tones should have dulled down to a more ashy colour and after that you should be able to put the brown dye in that you're going to use :)

@Aurora Does using those shampoos damage your hair at all?

Purple shampoos are usually kinda moisturizing and so to really clean your hair you may need to shampoo twice. I put it from my roots to my ends but and let it tone it. Some people say just to focus at the roots and the purple will just make it's way to the ends but doing that left the top of my hair pale blonde and the ends were quite brassy. I did it again and then the top of my hair was lilac and the bottom was slightly better. I only wash my hair about 2-3 times a week and add a leave in conditioner+oils before I get in the shower and use a purple shampoo so it isn't drying at all for me.
