Hair color help!

Okay so I have natural brown hair and I got it ombré a couple of months ago and I'm thinking in the next couple
Of months I'm going to cut off the ombré, but I wanna dye it to a darker brown, not much darker than it is now. The problem is, I don't wanna have to keep re-dying it when my roots begin to show. I'm perfectly happy with the color brown it is now, but I really wanna try a darker color. Any suggestions?

I have brown hair and went darker and HATED it! And ended up spending $70 on highlights :/ soo I would maybe get a couple dark streaks to see if you like it (:
