Also just try buying a black cream type base like a maybelline color tattoo in black or a mac paint pot. Then take a fluffy blending brush with a little black eyeshadow or grey and start to dust it around and around making it look like "smoke" :) I like to do brown and black :)

It's easier with a cream liner. I line my lids with a thin amount and blend it up. Adding more to my lash line and keep blending up. The area around the lash line will be darkest and start to get lighter as it goes up. Then use a highlighter and slightly blend it down. And since you have a pale color over black it'll turn a grey color so it'll go black to grey to an ivory color.
