I've had very oily skin my whole life. I'm 22 and recently started breaking out severely everywhere. It's been constant for about 6 months now. Any suggestions? I have no dr. Or insurance. Help! :(((

Well I was going to suggest a dermatologist because I'm around the same age and although my acne is genetic and I've had it for years that's what finally helped me. But seeing as that isn't an option I'd see if you could get something similar to a retinol cream. I don't know if there are any over the counter ones but there may be. I'm on two different types of antibiotics and a retinol cream but I know of people that use just a retinol treatment and see good results. Is there anything that has changed within the past 6 months that could have been a trigger for it? Like using a new product or stopping use of another one? Could they be related to stress or anxiety?

Can you describe the type of acne youre getting and your skin type a little more?

Exfoliate a lot! Have a scrub for the shower, cleanser, and cream to apply after you shower. Tea tree oil takes away redness. Also, I have gone to a health/wellness spa to get a facial type thing for my acne for around $40.

I've heard good things about tea tree oil. I've also used drying lotion for spot treatment.

Here is what I did to get rid of my acne:
1. Bought the clarisonic mia2. I use the sensitive brush and the lowest setting. I use it at night.
2. Tea tree cleanser from the body shop.. I use this with my clarisonic.
3. After cleansing, I use breath of fresh air toner by lush.
4. Every night before bed, I use a pea-sized drop of bare minerals cell renewal serum
5. I DO NOT use a heavy foundation. I use a korean bb cream with a setting powder on top. This alone makes a huge difference. At first, your skin isnt going to look great, but in the long run it is so much better for your skin. Bb creams heal and conceal and make your skin better in the long run!

I had cystic acne.. Large red and swollen bumps that were really painful. I would get them on my chin mostly.. At any given time I would have at least 2-3 large bumps and they would last around a week or so and scar badly. I've been doing what I said above for about two months now. For the first two weeks, my skin had to get used to the clarisonic.. I broke out very badly at first but now my skin is glowing and healthy :) it has really helped with the oil too. I only get a pimple or two when I'm on my cycle now and they are small and go away fast :)

I have a friend who suffers from acne and oily skin... she used milk with oatmeal and uses it as a mask she warms it up and mixes it up and leaves it on for a while and she also uses the clean and clear spot treatment I think its the one in a carbon grey tube with a lil blue cap..it helped her skin and she too wouldnt go out because she was so self conscious... I use tea tree oil on stubborn pimpls and in the summer because I break out on my arms just durin the summer time and within 2 days my break outs are gone... I hope your skin gets better :)

You shout try Dermilogica's products! I used to have TERRIBLE acne, but this worked amazingly! I know they sell it at Ulta, but I'm not sure where else. It's my holy grail product. Side note, if you wear a lot of foundation, try to give it a rest and let your skin breathe. I know it can be scary, but it's really worth it if it helps your skin. Stay strong and keep your head up! It won't last forever! 😊

I recently I'm a lot better I suffer with oily skin too but this is what I did n so did my sister which had been breaking out bad too. We had bad cystic acne and I know how it is to feel self conscious. So here's what I do in a regimen n hope it helps you too hun
1. Wash face with an antibacterial soap to take off the makeup at night
2. Wash with neutrogena face wash pomegranate n leave it for about 3 min then grab an oatmeal face soap n wash your face (massage them both on your face) then rinse with warm water a bit hot n then with cold water at the end to close your pores
3. Apply an oatmeal mask at night for about 30 min or an hour. (You grind oatmeal in a blender then put in a pan n a bit of water in the stove until it cooks like 3 min then add lemon juice n raw honey) while it's warm apply to your face! Later keep it in your fridge n when you going to apply it at night you heat it in the microwave for about 15 sec then apply to clean face) then rinse your face n apply a bit if benzoyl peroxide
4. If your skin gets dry apply a bit of vaseline on your dry areas for me it's around my mouth so I apply a little bit on that area n don't worry your won't make you break out just not on your whole face
5. Make a tea if arnica (you can find it at Mexican markets) n put it in a pan with some of the arnica till it boils then drink it. If you want to add sugar use coconut palm sugar
6. Last but not least it's going to sound like omg but do it take a small clove of garlic n take it like a vitamin I know it's not pleasant but it works just a small clove every night (my sis started doing this and I can say she is 80 percent better)
7. Almost forgot take your everyday multivitamin everyday
8. As far as in the morning just wash your face with the neutrogena n oatmeal face soap then while your face is still wet apply a bit of tea tree oil as a toner let it sink in then apply your moisturizer n if dry around mouth area a bit of Vaseline , then you can apply your makeup which I advise to use a bb cream it is less harsh on your skin ex garnier for oily skin n a powder to set it!
(I know it's a lot to take in but I can say it worked for me n my sis it took some time but thank god were better) now I'm no professional I just wanna help n hopefully it works for you too! The best of luck wishing you good vibes) Oww n always wash hands before touching your face n clean your brushes it so everyday or use for two days but more because it creates bacteria! Kk
