bit of a funny one but does anyone else find the more lip balm/cream you put on your lips makes them drier and chapped?? or is this just me!?

Depends on the balm. Sometimes I feel that happens with sticks so I prefer tubes(:

Oh my gosh, I thought I was the only one! The Soft Lips chap sticks are the worst for me... I need to reapply every half hour or so if I want to keep my lips from splitting!

So glad you said that. I was planning on trying soft lips (i have never tried them before) but instead those are on my christmas list. Dry lips are a pain for me because when I apply lip balm (sticks) it doesnt look natural and later it dries and leaves my lips more dry. Im really loving Carmex balms though. (:

Softlips products are bad for your lips. they contain alcohol, which is drying. Always read the ingredient list ladies.

I use the Cococare Cocoa Butter balm and it's amazing. My lips still feel like they have a balm on after I wipe it off. Super softening and super moisturizing. If you have a Walgreens nearby I HIGHLY suggest you see if they have it. Not all of them do. It comes in a bright yellow tube. Only $1.50 too, can't beat that!

I love using the brand Fresh. You can find it at sephora. They have a colorless balm which I love but they also have some that add color to your lips!

I've probably tried all the lip balms in the market (exaggerating of course) but what makes my lips the softest is Carmex. Doesn't smell as good though.. Also neutrogena Norwegian formula balm.

I really like Blistexs' Simple and Sensitive. It's so awesome definitely does the trick for those chapped lips during this time of year. I found it at Walmart for like 99 cents (:

The only thing that TRULY makes me lips soft is lipgloss so I put it on overnight and in the morning my lips are perfect. I try to wear gloss as much as I can but when I don't want gloss I like Burt's Bees lip balms and Carmex. Any balm that feels sort of thicker when you've got it on instead of sort of thin and slippy works best. Oh the body shop had a hemp lip balm that was really good. It smelt awful though.
