Best nail polish makes to use?

I'm looking for some good nail polish for winter colours, so dark shades, purples, dark reds etc. so what do you guys think are the best make. I was thinking Chanel?

I usualy use Essence's nail polishes, they work great! They are different from Chanel because they are way cheaper! ;)
