Some brands yes. Especially when it comes to lip products and mascara. The only thing that hasn't worked for me at all is drugstore blush.

I find some stuff better than mac (not much of a Mac fan). It all depends what your looking to get. I think l'oreal infallible shadows and wet n wild 8 pan shadows are amazing.

I totally use drug store brands & I've never even used Mac before bc it's so expensive BUT I'm pretty sure the big bonus for Mac and other pricey makeup is that is it all mineral makeup and no chemicals or animals products which is actually is most cheap makeup!

I feel Mac all the way. I did a little experiment myself by the way with two Mac shadows in Carbon and Rice paper compared to L'Oreal Limited edition runway pallet in Charming Cockatoo. The swatches of my hand were nowhere close to each other, the drugstore brand was chalky and no were near the pigment of my Mac shades. Even though people say "You're just paying for the name" you are not! It is long lasting, amazing and is trouble free. Blending the shades is a breeze too!

Generally, yes. The only problem with drugstore make up is that sometimes it is hard to find bright pigmented shadow. Mac was really bad for my skin. However I love L'oreal and sephora brand foundation. There is a brand of make up called L.A. Colors that are very pigmented, and super affordable. I found their products at dollar tree. They are also blendable and come in 3 color quads, 6 color quads etc. covergirl shadow is very low quality and not worth the money.

I won't use drugstore makeup for my face, like bb cream, powder, etc. blush I will but that's it. Otherwise I choose my products based on what I simply like best but face stuff, drugstore isn't for me and never has worked!

@alyson MAC isn't all mineral or chemical free && I believe they use animal hairs in some of their brushes. Just saying. Lol
