Hey ladies, I'm getting my hair toned on tuesday. any ideas on how to prep for it to minimize damage? I was thinking of doing some coconut oil treatments to keep my hair hydrated. any suggestions?

I like using a clarifying shampoo to get rid of buildup since I use lots of products and I find that my hair takes the color better that way... But other than that there's not really you can do a whole with preventing the damage. Once your hair is colored though you can do some deep conditioners (make sure they are safe for color treated hair). But as long as you are going to a professional then I think you should be fine...

Definitely do the coconut oil and don't wash prior to the appointment, you want some of your natural oils to protect your scalp.

Your hair shouldn't become damaged if the salon stylist knows what their doing. Ask questions before they start the process...

It's more about conditioning it and repairing after. And I'm pretty sure with toner they use 10 to 20 vol. anyway so I wouldn't worry that much.
