My hair is pretty damaged and my friend told me to do a mayo hair mask and keep it in over night. Does this work and is it worth it? I'm not a huge fan of mayo...

I'd go for coconut oil as well. Mayo makes me gag. I couldn't imagine having it in my hair. Coconut oil is a lot lighter but very hydrating and will smell SO much better.

I did it and loved it! I've done many hair masks and that's my favorite! The smell is a problem but the results are worth it.

I did it and it worked great but I was absolutely disgusted by the smell... I don't even eat mayonnaise to begin with lol. coconut oil is better for me. its more moisturizing and smells soooo much better.

I've done a mayo hair mask before and honestly I feel like it didn't work for me. Make sure you shampoo more than once, My hair smelled really bad because I didn't. It left my hair greasy, & it didn't really improve my hair's health.

The whole point is that your hair sucks in the oil so I think itll be easier just directly going with oil:P.

Its the eggs & oil that work jus in a convienent form so maybe to not have the mayo smell jus use the egg & oil bit same process?? my opinion I've never tried either I use coconut oil or jus deep condition with my favorite conditioner.

Did mine for 30 minutes and let it sit in plastic cap and then washed out.

Ugh, mayo belongs on my turkey sandwich. ( Notice I do NOT mention any muffins or baked goods in this thread! Lol) Now olive oil... I use for everything! But if I used straight EVO in my hair, I'd most likely not want to cook with it again-- Ever!

I left mine in over night with a shower cap on. it was disgusting, I stunk for days and it did nothing for my hair. it definitely doesn't help that I absolutely hate the taste/smell of mayonnaise. it wasn't worth it for me.
