Beauty blender question

A couple of weeks ago I bought the pink (original I think?) beauty blender, and I like it. It gives me a sheer finish after one application, and a heavier finish if I add some more products.. BUT! my question is, what is really the difference between the pink one and the black (pro?) one? I also saw some white and purple, but I think that's just the color?
If you have any experience with the black one, please tell me what your result were. Thanks!

I bought the black one & I personally love it. however, it does exactly what you described of the pink one.. sheer, natural looking coverage after the first application, & then you get a more full coverage look as you add more. in my opinion, a sponge is a sponge, lol. I wouldn't spend the money on the black one if you're pink one is still in good condition.
