About two weeks ago I had to have surgery. My lower abdomen. I was wondering when I could start putting something on the incision sights so they don't leave horrible scars! Also, what is best to use? Thanks so much.

When I had my foot surgery I waited until the stitches were out and the skin wasn't so sensitive. I then used a mixture of mederma and vitamin E liquid pills that I punctured and rubbed on the scar site.
Hope this helps. Speedy recovery!

The stitches are on the inside so no stitches will need to be removed.

When I had my c-section most important was to keep it dry in the beginning n b careful with your lifting as to not pull it or cause rips. I did rip but that's another story..
but you need to wait until the skin is no longer "raw" to start putting too many oils or ointments on as they may lock in moisture and that's not what you want. just my lil two cents of a "keep in mind". so it kinda depends on how your body heals. hope this lil tid bit helps..

It will take 3-6wks. Did you have a laparoscopy? (I have also had my left tube out and 7 other laparoscopic)

Omg Nicole you poor thing!! This was my third. They couldn't go in laparoscopically...they had to cut me open on the right side to go in and pull out my left tube if that makes sense.

Ouch! Too much scar tissue? I would imagine it's going to take a while to heal.

Yea that's it exactly! I guess I'm better off just asking a nurse at my gyno office. Thanks for all your help Nicole!
