So I have a light blue and dark blue eyeliner but when I try to put it on my eyelid, the color doesn't come on and I have to press pretty hard.
Is it because of my skin color so I can't see it or is it a bad quality eyeliner?

I would say it's just bad quality eyeliner! The light may be a little harder to see but you should definitely be able to see the dark blue without pressing hard! Hope this helps :)

It's probably bad quality eyeliner.

I agree with Cassidy.
it's most likely a bad quality liner. what brand is it? can we see a pic?
you shouldn't have to press that hard & still not be able to see the colour. I would invest in new ones. Revlon & Rimmel make great ones!

Hi Simran! Those NYC liners aren't very good quality! I tried them and felt the same as you. You can try heating them up a bit with a hair dryer or run the point through a candle flame to soften them.TEST IT ON THE BACK OF HAND FIRST SO YOU DONT BURN YOURSELF! That's a good trick to make cheap liners work a little better, but I spent a little more and got better ones next time! 😁

Pencil eye liners in general are very hard to apply on your top lid. Try a liquid or gel liner. They work MUCH better!! 😊

I'd try applying a black or brown liner first then applying the lighter blue over it. It will pop against the darker liner. With the darker blue, I would layer similar blue eyeshadow over it preferably a shadow with a little shimmer in it.

I bought that same eyeliner and its that brand. those pencils are hard and they tug on your skin. try heating briefly or break the tip off and car sh it, then use an eyeliner brush.
