Yeah, it's a nice homemade mask/treatment. Be careful, it can be hard on sensitive skin. Wash it off it it starts to burn.

Aspirin has salicylic acid in it just like most spot treatments so it does help.and its a anti-inflammatory so it helps with the swelling

I prefer to use Neosporin or Jojoba Oil to help with pimple size/swelling/redness. A lot less work.

I love using Advil Liquid Gels (break open and apply to blemish) Aloe, and Neosporin to help bring down swelling and heal.

If you apply a white tooth paste on a spot and sleep with it on your skin the next morning the spot will have dryed out and the spot should wipe away when you rinse your face in the morning.

I wouldn't recommend toothpaste at all. Yes it will dry out the skin but it will do so without and actual benefit to the skin whereas specific acne medication creams will contain ingredients so help fight the acne causing bacteria. Also menthol and fluoride are 2 known irritants to the skin, not something I would want to be putting on my skin :)
