Brittle Nail Help?

My nails are extremely brittle. If they grow past my finger, they break off. All the products I have heard of are too expensive. Does anyone have any products or ideas for strengthening nails?

I heard soaking you nails in olive oil helps strengthen them. I've never tried it though. If you do tell me how it goes.
What I do is I use Sally Hansen nailgrowth miracle. Great price and works great :D it really strengthened my nails
