I have facial hair that I hate and feel insecure about and I was thinking about getting it waxed but I'm scared that the hair will grow back thicker or something. I don't know what to do! What are your opinions about facial waxing?

Normally it doesn't grow back thicker... depends on the person. but I have very coarse hair and with waxing my hair grows much slower and not as much.

It does not come back thicker, that's a myth. People saying when shaving it grows back thicker but that's only because it's a sharp edge. With waxing over time, the hair follicles stop producing hair in those areas. That's why after years of waxing eyebrows, you don't have as many hairs that grow back.

I've been doing facial waxing for about a year and I haven't had any problems with hair growing back thicker, if anything has changed it would be that the hair only grows back in patches instead of the whole area.

Ok I always wondered like the hair I have on my face isn't thick or anything. Every time I ask somebody about it they claim they can't see the hair but when I look in the mirror to do my makeup I see it.

I personally shave off the facial hairs I have, not only are they very thin but the other methods of hair removal is not quite the best choice for your skin.
Hair removal creams burn through the first layer of skin you have to remove the hairs, which in end can just open up a bacteria grounds for acne, cysts and infections. I spent a couple of years using this method, until the above happened and it's not the easiest thing to deal with.
As for hair growing back thicker..
Your hair grows in follicles beneath the skin, and nothing you do to your hair on top of the skin can change its diameter or the number of follicles. Hair that hasn't been cut is wide at the base and is thinner toward the tip. Shaving cuts the hair off at the base where it is widest. When the hair starts to grow back, it seems coarser since that softer, thinner end has been removed.
Waxing over time can cause hair to stop growing, not for any other reason than the fact that if you wax against your hairs, you can stun hair growth. This is why some women wax their eyebrows, they do it in the same direction as their hair growth rather than against it.

I wax my "mustache" and eyebrows. It has given soo much confidence and the negative effects do not outweigh the positive effects. I'm very acne prone and my upper lip breaks out super bad after a waxing, but still my confidence is better. My eyebrow have had no adverse effect from waxing, and they do not grow in thicker.
