My daughter just brought this to my attention as she bought both the shimmer NARS multiple and two from the new matte release. The matte multiples contain less product (about half) for the same price as the original multiples (the shimmer versions). She is so upset.

It takes a lot to get her upset. But she is using her own money to build her kit so now she is taking notice of product amount and price. She came to me yelling in French and she sounded so funny. Took a lot to not laugh.lol.

Just got pay close attention these days because a lot of these companies are reducing product amount but not lowering the price to reflect this. My husband tells me its due to the price increase in shipping, some of ingredients used in many of our beauty items are going up (so that's a supplier issue) and then plastics have increased as well. :/

Yep. everything is giving us less for the same or more..
I don't mind when its something chip but $30 you can't b getting 1/2 the product

I try to look at it this way. When it comes to size reduction. Does it suck getting less for the same price? Yes. But most cosmetics are generally the same with only small variations in ingredients or pigments. I'm paying for the color, or because the formula makes it worth it. Even with the bigger size, it still costs far more pet once than comparable cream blushes, shadows, or liquid highlighters. Some would still say it's a ripoff in the large size, when other products do the same thing. I love nars, and will continue to buy it. But it will always be a luxury item budget wise to me.

Jennifer...very true. I just wish the brands who made decreasing in product amount would just be straight up instead of remaining mum or giving thd public some crazy pointless canned public relations statement on the issue (thinking of Tartes recent media release as to why they decreased product size on a product). I love a honest and a straight-forward response from a company. I love NARS too and will continue to buy but I will be selective on what I buy from any line because these product decreases /same price is hitting just about all the lines...even my beloved Bobbi Brown.
