Well, there are some flat irons that are made to be used on damp hair, but not all. It should say on the box.

But I think flat ironing your hair when its damp damages it more. I'm not sure though.

No! I had an iron that claimed to do that and it still burned my hair like crazy, definitely not worth it.
What I like to do is give my hair a good wash the night before - or even the morning before If I know that I'm not going anywhere that day. So that the next day that I flat iron it it's all nice and dry. I always get much better results ironing my hair when its all dry, nicer than if I were to blow dry and then flat iron it.

Also your not supposed to put hot irons in or in contact with water so flat ironing wet hair might like short circate or electrocute you

Deff only use a flat iron that is only recommended to use on damp hair otherwise it may burn your hair. Also, I'm not completely sure that even those won't burn or harm your hair.
