What to splurge on and what to save??!?!

So I am really interested in good quality makeup. But my question is what should I save my money on and what should I buy no matter what the cost? Plz help!

I splurge on great foundation and setting powder. Save money on mascaras, liners and lipsticks/glosses.

I agree with Shelley a good foundation is key while glosses can be found cheaper that are still of good quality I also like NYX lip liners which are inexpensive to me I spend more money on brushes, skincare, foundations, powders etc.
