Normally I use my MAC studio fix powder plus foundation during the summer because my skin is oily but during the winter I have to use a liquid foundation to give my face a little moisture. Also I notice the powder would settle in my creases on my face.
My question is this: I have Revlon Colorstay Liquid Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin 410 Cappuccino and in normal light it looks flawless on my face but when I take a photo using flash it makes my face look a lighter than it really is! I'm not sure if I should go up another color, like 440 Mahogany in the Combination/Oily Skin version, I've actually tried the 440 color and it went on dark! I didn't like it at all. I also thinking I am using to much finishing powder, I use Laura Mericer powder compact or MUFE HD finishing powder.
So in the picture I can see how my face looks lighter than my chest but in natural light it looks wonderful!
I'm just not sure! I am still new foundations, especially liquid.
Any help will be greatly appreciated ladies thanks!

You may have a "facial masking" it is completely normal. Facial Masking is a condition that can affect women with bronze/ebony skin tones. What you need to do is find your skin's undertone and from there you have to find the right depth of color, if the wrong color is applied it can have the appearance of grey or "ashy" skin. To determine if you have facial masking take a good look at your face when you have no product on the face. If your skin has a natural "mask"- that is, a tendency to be darker around the outer edges of the face and lighter in the interior of the face- you have facial masking. If you do have facial masking the most important thing to remember is that it will take two shade to correct this and have a natural glow. Also when applying powder the lighter you go on coverage the less it is likely to crease up. Try a finishing spray that has a matte finish to keep the face from looking oily. Face Atelier has a great finishing spray called "Ultra Matte" it works great for oily complexions.
