Hey ladies. Have any of you used Finacea? I went to the dermatologist for the first time and they said I had great skin, but I really just wanted something to clear up my black heads and help with some light flushing on my nose and cheeks. They prescribed me Finacea (azelic acid) gel. It costs $200 a month... with a discount! I don't mind paying that if it will help these things, but I don't want to keep refill;ing this prescription for $200 a month if the results aren't significant enough. I know it will take a month or two of using this to see results, so I will be patient, but it would be great to hear about any experiences or knowledge of this product while I'm starting off with it.
Thanks!

Hi Natalie! I have not used Finacea but my roomie recently got an Azelaic acid cream prescribed to her by the dermatologist for Rosacea. Its only been 5 days since she started using it, and has definitely shown improvement, her face doesn't look so red in the morning anymore. Azelaic acid does help really well with blackheads too and the cream my roomie uses is 15% Azelaic acid and is not verrrrry expensive. what are the specifications of Finacea?

Thanks for the reply, Ame! I am also using a 15% azelaic acid as well. I definitely found a couple other azelaic acid prescriptions between 15-20% through Google, but I'm not sure how expensive they are =( I'm glad to hear that your roomie's skin is improving so quickly! I definitely didn't expect results so quickly, so that makes me optimistic! I read that some brands are used more for acne and others are prescribed more for rosacea so I'm definitely optimistic about blackheads clearing up too. Thanks for the help =)
