I'm pretty fortunate to have long lashes, but they can never keep a curl once I apply my mascara. Curling mascaras don't even work for me. How do you keep your eyelashes curled? Is it easy for you, or do you have to put extra effort into it?

I have stubborn asian eyelashes so its really difficult to keep and curl or even get my eyelashes curled in the first place. For mascara, I have to use only waterproof because the formula is lighter and doesn't weigh my lashes down. If I use a regular formula, curling my eyelashes would be pointless -.-''

Yeah, I have those stubborn asian lashes too. Maybe I should try a waterproof mascara too.

Have you tried the heated eyelash curlers? I heard those make the curl hold longer.

@ Kristina - No I actually haven't. Do you know how much those are? I was thinking of buying a new curler, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on something & find out it doesn't work.

A cheaper alternative to heated eyelash curlers is getting your blow dryer on a low setting and "blowdrying" your eyelash curler. Funny to say. :) Hahaha. But it's effective. Blowdry it for about 10-20 seconds, curl away, and use a waterproof mascara.

@ Jazmine - That sounds like a good idea! I'll definitely try that out. If it doesn't work, I'm afraid to say that my eyelashes will never keep the curl HAHA
Thanks girls!

If I really wanna curl my lashes, I apply mascara on first and then curl (when the mascara is still wet). It is a bit messy but it works best for me. Good luck!

i always heat up my eyelash curler then my trick is to use two different mascaras for more volume and more hold.

I have a heated lash curler but I also heat my regular lash curler (a metal Maybelline one I've had for at least 20 years) and prefer that to my heated one. Always test the curler on your hand first to make sure it's not too hot BEFORE you apply it to your lashes. If you are heating your curler first, you won't need to hold the curler to your lashes as long as if it were not heated. Like Brittany suggested, I hold mine for 10 seconds, but only if I'm not heating my curler first. I don't use waterproof mascara, but I do wipe my mascara wand on a tissue to get rid of the excess product before applying it to my lashes. I find that if I apply a lighter coat of mascara to my lashes my curl lasts longer.

I have the same problem. I don't like to use waterproof mascara everyday because I remove my lashes when I remove the mascara. I just like to use really dry mascaras like Shu Uemura Ultimate Expression Mascara (it was given to me) or NYC City Curls Mascara. You can also dry your mascara out by opening and closing a mascara and then let it sit for a month or so.

I have never tried this, but I have heard that curling your eyelashes, then letting them set for atleast 15 minutes before masacara on them can help. The mascara can way them down at first, but after they sit for a little while, they are more likely to hold the curl.
I like to think of it like curling hair. If you let the curl out then brush it immediately, the curl will not be as curly, and softer. But if you let it set then brush it out, it will be curlier!
Also there are some mascaras out there that are made to help hold curl, you could always try one of those!

Heated lash curler+ Waterproof mascara :) Apply the mascara first though!

Hey girls! Thanks so much for the suggestions! I tried heating my eyelash curler with a blow dryer. It totally works! It's not as curled as I wanted it to be, but it definitely keeps my lashes curled.

Use waterproof mascara...it holds so much better!
