Hey guys (this is my first post, yay)
For those of you who own the Tarte True Blood palette, or the Urban Decay Book of Shadows (Vol IV), I was wondering what your opinions of the palettes are.
Both palettes come with 16 shadows, a mascara, eyeliner and a primer. They are also similar color palettes.
I love Urban Decay eyeshadows and don't know whether to stick to them or try something new.

i would say quality wise, they're pretty similar. i feel like tarte blends almost a little bit better but the shadows can lean slightly chalky depending on the shade and how much you pack on. UD is smooth but some of their shades tend to have fall out issues.
if i had to pick, i think i'd pick the tarte palette for one reason: mix of matte and shimmer. if i remember right, all the UD shades in the BOS are shimmery (which is great if you don't like a variety of textures), but i know the tarte palette has a great mix.
i would branch out to tarte and try them- the true blood palette is a great way to test out a variety of the shadows (i did the same with a palette from last year).

ive been meaning to review the tarte true blood palette! but I dont have the book of shadows to compare it to.
I do love the true blood palette! a bit bulky but I love the packaging so much it doesn't matter! some fallout but I get about the same with my UD shadows. some of the darker shades are a bit smeary and don't go on very well but there's so many shades that make up for it so it doesn't bother me much :] and a couple have a powdery texture but go on fairly well. I use this alot- the colors are so pretty. I love the mascara that comes with it (smells strong) but goes on beautifully! the liner is really soft - a bit hard to work with but looks awesome when I got the hang of it! havent tried the primer yet. anwyays im glad I spent the money when I really wasnt going to :] hope this helps!
