Promoting MAC products?

From what I know so far all the companies contact you and offer you to promote for them. They usually see if you blog or a have a youtube. There are so many people out there that want to promote products. Especially if you are a makeup artist it saves you money and you can be one of the firsts to try out new products : )

MAC will contact you if they want you to review their products.

i would do anything for them to ask me to promote their products and send me free stuff! haha :)

As I said to someone else. Most companies will only work with a blogger once that blogger has a certain amount of people subscribed to their blog/youtube channel or both. Temptalia/Christine isn't a cosmetologist yet was invited by Cosmoprof to their trade show (which is pro only and not open the public). Reason: The amount of readers she has. It's the same with many other companies. Makeup Artists Mag/IMATS will give bloggers tickets to their shows BUT only if you have over 25,000 subscribers and PROVE that you do.

100% agree with Yasmin K.

Think of it like this: If MAC gives me a free product, and I decide to make a video on it, maybe 20 people will see my review. If MAC gives someone with an established beauty blog with thousands of followers and millions of web hits a free product, and they write a review on it, there's a much better chance that they're going to sell the product. The PR departments for cosmetic companies are very aware of which youtube channels and blogs have the kind of #s they're looking for.

My advice: don't become a beauty blogger or youtuber (or beautylish-er!) because you want to get something for free. Do it because you love it, build it because you love it, and maybe when you've created a thriving blog or channel, MAC will find you.

Many very successful bloggers and artists have posts and videos about this topic. They all say the same thing--don't ask a company for a product. Let them find you.

Very well said Anna.. this needs to be a memo sent to everyone! :]
