Hey everyone, I just wanted to say hello because I'm completely new at this and fairly new at blogging. I've had a blog up for a few months, and I only have 3 followers, two of which I know personally. Pretty sad. Hey Kalyn, I just started my blog at the begining of July, but I already have quite a few posts....I am truly addicted - I think my boyfriend is getting jealous- lmbo! Hey Kalyn your blog looks great and has some good information! I see you are having trouble taking clear pictures of your swatches, I can see they are really blurry...what kind of camera are you using? I'm no expert but maybe I could offer some advice...

Amanda, right now I'm using a Nikon Coolpix S220. I can't really afford a new camera right now, but any camera suggestions for the future or lighting/setup tips would be so appreciated! I love your blog, and followed! Can't wait to see more from you!

Your camera should definitely be able to do the job, I use a point and shoot camera too. I wondering when you look in the camera is the picture clear but once you snap the photo it's blurry? I still have issues with lighting sometimes but here's a couple important things to consider when taking pictures of swatches:
1. Use the Macro setting when taking up close photos. Now if you are using this setting and your pics are still blurry it's because your hands are too shaky...try and be more careful or invest in a tripod.
2. Natural lighting is the best, either outside in the sunlight (just make sure its at an angle where you dont get harsh shadows) or a room that gets the most natural light.
3. Make sure the ISO is on the lowest setting (80), the quality will be the best.
4. Play around with the white balance. Cameras usually give options for daylight, cloudy, etc...see which looks the best depending on the lighting.
