I got one yesterday, and so far I'm really impressed. I'm just super nervous about washing my hair again, because I feel like this is way too good to be true. Has anyone else gotten it done? What was your hair like once you washed it (after the salon)? And what shampoo/conditioning products do you use to maintain it?
My full review on the BB is here: http://liloutee.tumblr.com/post/8562817082/brazilian-blowout-review

I did keratin treatments for 3 years before I embraced my curls - and I really really really loved it. The only downside to the BB is that once it starts to fade, it seems to go downhill quickly!! Definitely use the Acai balm for your blow-dry, and a sulfate-free shampoo and it should be fine!
The first time I shampooed my hair after the treatment, I was blown away by how easy it was to style (umm....15 minutes drying time vs 45! And I didn't have to flatiron it!) and how soft and shiny it was. It seemed to keep my color a little longer.

How fast did it start fading for you? I'm going to use the mask I bought 2 months into the treatment so that it doesn't look too horrible once it starts fading. And this still seems too good to be true!

After about 2 months, I noticed that my hair wasn't as easy or quick to style. It was still easier, but over the next couple of weeks, my styling time went from 15 to 25 minutes until it finally took me the full-on 45 to get it all done. And then I had the treatment again. It's important to not shampoo too often, the coating wears off - maybe check out a dry shampoo? It worked great for me. If I were you, I'd use the mask from the word go - instead of waiting; essentially, you have a coating of keratin on your hair, so it makes sense to use the mask now to preserve that coating. =)

I usually just wash my hair twice a week (unless I'm having a high intensity workout day) so hopefully that will be good. And I think I'm going to use the mask once a week. The dry shampoo I've been using pre-BB has made my roots look gross, but I guess I'll try it again to see if there's any difference :)

A tip for using dry shampoo - after you spray it on, work it into your roots a little with your fingers, then hit it with the blow dryer on medium. It works great.

I'll definitely try that, thanks!

I would be careful! It is proven that Formaldehyde is found in Brazilian Blowouts which is a carcinogen. I wouldn't consider getting another one. It's also dangerous to those who are in the salon with you.

Angelique - the amount of formaldehyde contained in the BB is less than .02%, which is well within the FDA's guidelines for safe usage. You're exposed to more formaldehyde in secondhand smoke.

@ Kimberly- Salons claim that they contain less than .02%. However, recently research finds that there has been up to 4%-10%. You should really research that, it's even been in Cosmo magazine.

I've researched it...I manage a salon and I have the MSDS info. I really doubt that the FDA would let that slip.

@ Kimberly- This may seem like a little debate going on, but I think girls should know the truth. It can really harm other people's health.
Articles, blog posts, etc. could be biased, but then again the official info is linked here: http://www.osha.gov/SLTC/formaldehyde/hazard_alert.html
http://www.fda.gov/Cosmetics/ProductandIngredientSafety/ProductInformation/ucm228898.htm. In the OSHA article, it even states that some products labeled "Formaldehyde-free" on the product label & on the MSDS actually did contain formaldehyde. Some even found higher levels of it than actually claimed.
