So, after seeing all these amazing tutorials on here, I really want to start doing my own nail art.

I don't own any tools, so I am wondering which do you think is better? Nail art pens or to get a dotting tool?

What can I do more with and which is easier to use?
Thanks. :)

I prefer the dotting tool because I do nails and that's what we use at our salon. We don't use the art pen. BUT for someone who is just starting the pen might be easier to use.
The dotter is easy to use if you have a steady hand bit its taken me lots of practice to be good at nail art. You can make flowers, polka dots etc with it but i also suggest getting some bottles of the nail art polish as well because they come with a long thin brush that you can make lines and stripes with. Also I think by using these instead of an art pen your lines would look better and more artistic than just drawing a line with the pen. Good luck!

i picked up a set of dotting tools and i prefer them. i will say that i plan on buying nail art brushes too (because there are just some things that you can't do with a dotting tool), but for a beginner, the dotting tools are a good start.

now that you're looking into nail art more, check out cutepolish on youtube. she has cute but simple nail art tutorials. i love her!

Thank you everyone! I have ordered some dotting tools from Amazon. :)

Dotting tools for me. You can do more with dotting tools than with plain ol' stripping polishes.

My dotting tools haven't turned up yet, but this is my first attempt. I used cocktail sticks.

What an adorable design! It looks great =]
One thing I can suggest is using the ends of bobby pins. They work just as great! Also, you can use toothpicks. Keep on dipping the end of a toothpick into a nail polish bottle, letting it dry between each dip. This will create a ball at the end of the toothpick. You can also use the end of a dried up ball point pen. Hope that helps! Good luck! =]
