I am thinking about buying this mascara... any pro's/cons?

Hi Mindy! This is the macara I am using right now! I really like it, but I haven't noticed anything spectacular from it compared to other mascaras I've tried. It coats my lashes nicely and thickens without clumping my lashes together. Also, it does not flake throughout the day. The tip of the brush has small bristles to coat smaller lashes by the inner corner of your eye. I honestly never used it because it would always have way too much product on it and I never got the hang of applying it. The brush itself worked fine for me and reached my little lashes. Lastly, I've had the mascara for about a month and a half and and it hasn't dried at all. My final thoughts, while I did really like it I don't think I would buy it again. I really wanted to try it and I'm glad I did. I feel there are other mascaras out there that do the same for a fraction of the price. Let me know if you end up getting it. I hope this helps. :)

Can you purchase this mascara at drug stores?
Jan 30, 2012
Shannyn W.
Elizabeth - You can purchase it wherever Benefit Cosmetics are sold. Such stores like Sephora, Ulta, and Department store counters. Also http://www.benefitcosmetics.com/ . I don't see it at any drug store unfortunately.
I agree with Alexandra 100%!!!!! =)

I went to Rite-Aid the other day trying to pick this mascara up. I've been a Maybelline Great Lash girl ever since my first tube of mascara, and nothing has everrrr compared! I've heard so many good things about this brand though, I can't wait to try it out!!! Unfortunately where I live right now, I don't have the luxuries of Ulta or Sephora, but I bet that the make-up counter at Macy's will have it. As soon as I can I'll be writing a review on it! :)

I'm looking at Benefit's website and one tube of it is $22. Pricey compared to my $5 Great Lash mascara.

hey mindy i bought this product in novmeer when ebnefit had the 3 for 2 offer on and i used it once and it was awful! the brush is gorgeous but the formulation is sticky and clumpy. i like to achieve long long lashes with volume and when i put a few layers on this did not dry at all so was sticky all day!
also, this was extremely hard to get off i couldnt use a makeup wipe or lotion, i had to use warm water with about 4 makeup wipes this stuff was like cement! wouldnt purchase this again, especially if your after long thikc lashes!

It is a great mascara when used with the following technique: Apply a volumizing or lengthening mascara that is NOT waterproof first (i.e.: Bad Gal Lash) and then go ahead and layer on top using They're Real. The combo of the both is called "The real Bad Gal"

Yes. I used it for three days and than returned it. This is why: It clumps, flakes, and causes the dreaded 'panda bear' eyes after just a few hours wear. For those who wear contacts it is super irritating when the flakes of mascara get in your eyes. I wish it was a better formula but the only thing positive I can say about it is the pigmentation is very good. Too much hype over this drug-store formulation. :(((

Hey Everything, thank you for your input. It doesn't sound worth the $22 to me. I typically use drug store mascaras but every once in a while I like to try something more expensive to see how it compares. Looks like I just saved myself $22 :)

Mindy, I would highly disagree with the comments. This is my go-to mascara I believe it is amazing. I am not sure what mascaras you usually go for but this is a wonderful mascara that I believe really does something different to my eyelashes.

I'm going to disagree with the other comments too. :) I've been using this product for the past week and I absolutely LOVE it. I'm a complete mascara fiend, and I find They're Real to be absolutely amazing! Will definitely be repurchasing, as it does everything I want my mascara to do. It has excellent pigmentation, gives amazing volume, and a decent amount of length! Totally worth it, IMO.

I have mixed feelings about this mascara however I do have a fantastic "other" product that I prefer that is used in conjunction with any mascara that you currently own.
The product is called "LASH EXTENSION" by Ready to Wear cosmetics NYC.
This is literally is an eyelash transformer as it used to apply Before your regular mascara..and will work every-time!. Hope this helps

Pros : Extemely long lashes love the "ball " at the end to get the smaller lashes. Cons: Drys up after few months/weeks I hope this helped :)

This is, believe it or not the number ONE best selling mascara in the world. I beg to differ. I strongly disliked it. It felt uncomfortable to blink and felt like my lashes were stiff and crispy. Your money could be better spent elsewhere

I tried this mascara for a good 6 weeks. I agree w some of the girls it does make your lashes look great but it does flake, it dries out really fast, and I felt like it was harsh on my eyelashes. The more and more I used the product, I felt like my natural lashes were looking shorter and falling out.
I've been using Tarte's lights camera lashes and love it (it's only been a couple weeks though so we will see :)
