About a month ago I dyed my hair bright red. (It was brown with blonde highlights before that.) I used hicolor hilights in magenta, which is supposed to lift the brown color, and replace it with the red, so I wouldn't have to go through the bleaching process and cause more damage to my hair.

I love the red color, but it fades quickly. I am wanting to go blonde, but I am worried about all the damage it will do to my hair. What is the easiest and safest way to go from red to blonde?

Go to a salon. It's much cheaper than you trying to do it, then having to pay for a color correction. Also, it may not happen in one visit-you might have to make it a process over a few months. Reds fade fastest, but washing less often & using as cold of water as you can stand can help.

When I got rid of my red hair I used Color Oops from CVS. It worked really well at getting the color out, but unfortunately it only takes you back to get to the color you started with. Which would have you bleaching your hair to be blonde. I don't think there is really any easy and fast way to get from one side of the spectrum to the other...

I'm naturally dirty blonde and dyed my hair dark vibrant red, i got sick of it and stripped it with a L'oreal hair color stripping box and it DESTROYED MY HAIR! Literally all pigmentation was taken out from the ends(hair was white) went to yellow and my roots stayed red for 6 months. I finally have it platinum blonde again but it took like 7 months. I would definitely go to a salon if you could, but my friend is a hair stylist and tried to help me and it did nothing. I would say just go slow and if you strip it good luck!

I had to have my hair bleached 3 times before the red came out and even then i still have a slight red tint! It is a pain to get out i would deffinitely shell out the extra money to go to a salon and have them do it for you!
