i use windows movie maker, it came with my computer. i like it!its easy to use but nothing fancy if thats what you are looking for.

A good tip to keep in mind is if your a student and the software seems pricy you can usually get a student discount with a student ID.

I do agree with Jaclyn. Windows Movie Maker is a great basic movie editor. It has a lot to offer and interface is straight forward and easy to use.
