I have always wanted to go to the Makeup Show in NYC and wondered if anyone who has gone can tell me how it is. I really want to make it my goal to get there this May!

I am not sure if you are talking about IMATS, if you are, buy your tickets soon as you can. It is being held at Chelsea Pier this year. Much bigger venue than the last. I loved it. Look it up. It is IMATS 2012 NYC.

If you would like to join my group on that trip let me know..it should be nice and lots of fun.

i was looking at the one called The Makeup Show and it's in NYC in may at the metropolitian pavilion. I will definately look up the IMATS one and definately let you know if I will go and joing your group.Thanks so much!

Yes The Makeup Show is its own event on May 17 & 18th at The Metropolitan Pavilion. It is an industry-only show in which there are over 120 brands that exhibit at discount, networking opportunities, buisiness forums, and lots of education from keynote speakers, seminars, to hands-on owrkshops. It's a show produced by industry professionals for the pros - this will be the 7th NYC anniversary. So much in store.

@ Eve T. Thank you for the information. I really want to go and am hoping i will be able to. I would love to get in touch with makeup companies and some day work with one. would you reccomend bringing resumes at all to hand out to any companies?

Hi Gina. I would recommend business cards. You can start networking and if it leads somewhere after the show - then a resume would be a great next step. However, depending on which show you attend - we have a "pro area" where agents, execs and top makeup artists and stylists will review your resume & portfolio. So keep this in mind.
